Gianluca Forlani (Luca) is a Senior Industry Specialist for solid waste in IFC’s Municipal and Environmental Infrastructure business. Luca has almost 20 years of professional experience in the solid waste sector across both developed and emerging economies, having led the provision of technical, commercial, and transaction advisory services to multiple authorities, developers, investors, lenders, and multilateral institutions. Over the years, Luca has advised on waste infrastructure projects worth over $7 billion capex, many of which have reached financial close and are now in operation. Luca holds a master’s degree in economics from Bocconi University, Milan, Italy.
