Giorgia Demarchi is a Senior Social Development Specialist in the East Asia and Pacific region. She currently leads the regional gender program and contributes to social inclusion strategic engagements across the region. Since joining the World Bank in 2012, she has worked on poverty reduction, ethnic minorities, social protection, and women’s economic empowerment across Europe and Central Asia, Myanmar and Vietnam, through both analytical and operational engagements. She specializes in mixed methods research. She holds an MPhil degree from the University of Oxford.
