Gio is a Nicaraguan student of Economics and Political Science set to graduate from Texas Christian University in December 2023, where she focuses on data analysis, research, and development economics. Gio's passion for social impact and community service is exemplified by her current role as Director of Fundraising at Strike Down Cancer-St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as well by her tenure as President of Student Programs at Operation Smile Nicaragua, and as Community Engagement Intern at the International Rescue Committee in Dallas. Gio has extensive internship experience, where she showcased her commitment to sustainability by creating a financial education program for female entrepreneurs, facilitating refugee family reunifications, and creating an internship program between the IRC and her school.
