Gitanjali is a development professional who lives out of her backpack. Born and raised in India, she has worked in South and Central Asia and sub-Saharan Africa with different UN agencies in cross-cutting areas of maternal and child health, polio eradication, energy and climate change, ecotourism, and livelihood and micro-finance opportunities for women.
A published author, Gitanjali has written books on subjects as diverse as polio, ecotourism and cocktails.
Her other interests include psephology, travel, poetry, drama and cartography.
