Giulia Macagno has a PhD in sustainable development and more than 10 years’ experience in low-carbon and resilient urban development, both inside the EU and in developing countries. Since 2015, she has been working at the European Investment Bank and since 2019 she has been involved in the setting up of the City Climate Finance Gap Fund, a joint EIB and WB initiative providing early-stage technical assistance for the preparation of urban climate action projects in low and middle-income countries. She is currently coordinating the EIB Technical Secretariat of the Gap Fund and working in close collaboration with the WB, GIZ and other partners.
