Gonzalo Pons is a social scientist working on social, environmental, and climate change policy with different global practices of the World Bank, such as Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy, and Social Sustainability and Inclusion. His current work focuses on natural resource management and conservation of forests and coastal areas, the social dimensions of climate change (e.g., climate migration, just transition), strategies to promote sustainable behaviors, and climate policies analyzed through Country Climate and Development Reports (CCDRs).
Previously, he worked with the World Bank’s Mind, Behavior, and Development (eMBeD) unit, the Harvard Kennedy School S3Lab, and Innovations for Poverty Action - Peru, conducting impact evaluations and applying behavioral sciences in different sectors. Gonzalo holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy.
