Graciela Reyes Retana

Research and Institutional Development Director, Mexican Fund for the Conservation of Nature

Graciela is a Mexican environmental economist with over 15 years of experience structuring, implementing and evaluating conservation and climate finance solutions. She worked for over eight years at the World Bank both as staff and as consultant, where she provided analytical inputs for studies and projects related to sustainable rural landscapes and climate change, including the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF), and the Climate Investment Fund (CIF).

Graciela joined the Mexican Fund for the Conservation of Nature (FMCN) in 2020, a National Private Environmental Fund, where she leads a multidisciplinary team to design new multilateral and bilateral projects, including the first-ever Green Climate Fund (GCF) project in Mexico. Graciela is a Ph.D. candidate from Cornell University, has an MSc. in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh, UK, with the highest honors, and a BSc in Economics from Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico. She was awarded a Fulbright and a Chevening Scholarships. She also holds diplomas and certificates in topics, such as Carbon Credits, Organizational Leadership, and Impact Evaluation.
