Guadalupe (Lupe) Bedoya is a Senior Economist in the Development Impact Evaluation Department (DIME) at the World Bank. Her research focuses on the role of accountability mechanisms to reduce market failures and improve development outcomes such as quality of healthcare, patient safety and road safety, and multifaceted interventions to reduce poverty and improve gender equality. She received a Master’s degree in Economics and Public Policy from Princeton University, and a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. Before joining the World Bank, Lupe worked at the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Colombian Ministries of Finance and Economic Planning.
