Hadija has built her professional career in a variety of roles in the fields of project finance, Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), green/sustainable finance, and long-term finance in infrastructure and housing. In her current role as a Senior Financial Sector Specialist with the World Bank team in Nairobi, she leads on a number of complex and multi-sectoral lending operations and advisory services that target increasing the scale and cost effectiveness of institutional and private capital into socially and environmentally sustainable development initiatives.
Prior to joining the World Bank in 2016, she spent four years with Kenya's National Treasury’s PPP Unit during which she was part of the government’s PPP journey that witnessed its program mature from the foundational stages of building and strengthening its regulatory and institutional framework to making impressive progress towards delivering PPP transactions in the country.
A certified Project Finance Specialist, Hadija holds a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology (JKUAT) and a master's in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
