Hans Shrader is an expert in legal and policy reforms that streamline and rationalize regulation and improve competitiveness. He has 18 years of experience in private sector development in emerging-market or middle-income countries. He joined IFC from the World Bank in 2000 to work on private-sector policy reforms that increase investment, improve competitiveness and support economic growth. Since 2003, Hans has been developing and implementing investment-climate growth strategies and regulatory reforms in partnership with governments and private-sector institutions in Asia. In 2015, he relocated to Nairobi, Kenya, to lead the World Bank Group’s sector-based competitiveness initiatives.
