Harald Tauchmann is professor of health economics at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nuremberg. Before he was head of the junior research group at CINCH and research associate at the RWI (Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung) in Essen. He studied economics, political science, sociology and biology at the Ruprecht-Karls University Heidelberg and the University of Manchester; he received his doctorate degree at the interdisciplinary institute for environmental economics of University Heidelberg. His research focuses on applied econometrics and empirical health economics, especially health insurance competition and individual health behaviour.
