Senior Disaster Risk Management Consultant, World Bank

Harriette Stone is a Senior Disaster Risk Management Consultant at the World Bank, focusing on disaster resilience within the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery. She has over 15 years of work experience in disaster resilience extending to the public sector, private sector, and academia. 
 
Prior to joining the World Bank in 2024, Harriette led the implementation of over $1 billion in resilient infrastructure in the Caribbean for the UK Government's Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) and led the development of policy and programs on Disaster Risk Finance. She previously worked at the UK's Cabinet Office and Arup. She holds an Engineering Doctorate and Masters in Research in Urban Sustainability and Resilience from University College London (UCL) as well as a Masters in Structural Engineering (Uni. of Surrey, UK) and a Bachelors with Honours in Civl Engineering (Uni. Of Exeter, UK).
