Hayeon Kim is an Education Specialist in Digital Learning and AI-Enabled Systems at the World Bank. Over nearly a decade in the Education Global Practice, she has worked across the East Asia and Pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa regions on programs spanning basic and higher education and skills development, and specializes in digital learning and AI in education. She supports governments from system diagnostics and pilot design through impact evaluation and national adoption, helping translate emerging AI opportunities into sustainable reforms that strengthen teaching, learning, and skills development. Prior to the World Bank, she worked at PwC as a U.S. Certified Public Accountant serving technology, education, and infrastructure clients, and at the Korea Development Institute as an economic policy researcher. She is completing a Ph.D. in Engineering at Seoul National University, where her research examines the economics of AI adoption and its effects on productivity and labor market outcomes.
