Heather Biggar Tomlinson, PhD, is a child development, early education and refugee specialist. She is Co-founder and Executive Director of Roshan Learning Center. Heather has worked for the World Bank, UNICEF, the U.S. National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the U.S. Senate (Senator Edward Kennedy, HELP Committee), and the U.S. National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). She is also the author of The Early Years Matter: Education, Care and the Well-Being of Young Children, Birth to 8 (Teachers College Press, 2014), Parenting Education in Indonesia (World Bank, 2015), Effects of Poverty (SAGE, 2015), and numerous other articles, chapters, and reports. She currently lives in Jakarta, Indonesia.
