Heba Elgazzar is a Program Leader for Human Development at the World Bank, where she coordinates projects and analytic work in the areas of social protection and jobs, education and health. She has previously held assignments as an economist focusing on policy issues and investment projects.
Prior to joining the World Bank, she served as director of global economics and governmental affairs at Genzyme Corporation, focusing on Europe, Latin America and the United States, and has held positions in economic research at the London School of Economics and Political Science and in business development at the Procter and Gamble Company. Heba holds a PhD and MSc in the area of economics and social policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA from Columbia University.
