Henry Jewell joined the Bank in May 2010 as a Geospatial Analyst in the Urban and Local Government Unit. Prior to joining the Bank he received his Master’s degree from the George Washington University in Geography, where he wrote his thesis on using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and remotely sensed data to map variabilities in health and wealth outcomes in the neighborhoods of Accra, Ghana. Henry has also served as a social ecologist for South African national parks. Since joining the Bank he has worked on numerous projects, utilizing GIS and Earth Observation to provide a geospatial perspective to research in order to meet the objectives of the projects. He loves spending time outdoors, running and his daily bike-ride to work.
