Hikaru Yamagishi is an Economist with the Women, Business and the Law project at the World Bank. Previously, she conducted research in political economy and comparative politics at Stanford University and Harvard University. Her work on political representation, democracy, and gender has been published in top peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. She holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.A. in East Asian Studies and Ph.D. in Political Science from Yale University.
