Dr. Holger A. Kray is Practice Manager for Agriculture and Food Security in the World Bank’s Africa Sustainable Development Group, in addition to which he also coordinates economic and other policy work related to sustainable development in the region.
Holger is an agricultural economist with expertise in agricultural policy and rural strategy reform, climate-smart and sustainable agriculture and public sector management. He has extensive working experience across Africa, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Before joining the World Bank, he worked as Senior Financial Sector Consultant for an international management consulting firm, mainly in the areas of change management and institutional reforms, and led a consulting firm working with international organizations such as the World Bank, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), European Commission (EC) and the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC). He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Kiel University, Germany.
