Hulya Ulku is a Senior Economist at the World Bank’s Macroeconomics, Trade, and Investment (MTI) Global Practice in the Latin America and the Caribbean region. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked as an Associate Professor in Development Economics at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, where she directed the Development Economics and Policy Master’s Program and taught International Trade and Macroeconomics to graduate students. Ms. Ulku’s research focuses on macro, sector, and firm level growth and productivity analyses, with a focus on technological innovation, trade, labor market policies, and international finance. She holds a PhD and MA in Economics from Brandeis University.
