Hyea Won is a Digital Specialist working on operations and analytical engagements with the World Bank's Digital Unit in the Western and Central Africa Region. Since joining the Bank, she has worked in Nigeria, Malawi, Sierra Leone, and the West Bank and Gaza. Hyea Won first joined the Bank in 2017 as a consultant supporting digital agriculture initiatives.
Previously, Hyea Won was with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) where she participated in the internet governance and cybersecurity policy dialogues in multilateral organizations. While at KISA, she was seconded to the Ministry of Science and ICT to support Korea’s engagement in internet governance discussion.
Hyea Won holds a Master’s in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor’s in Economics and International Affairs from George Washington University.
