Ifeta Smajic is Social Development Specialist with the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Region, where she works on social risks management, social accountability, youth development, and land & conflict issues. Ifeta manages the World Bank Community of Practice on Land in Fragile and Conflict-affected Situations (FCS), which is a platform for building and sharing knowledge on land interventions in fragile and conflict-affected situations aimed at reducing vulnerability and marginalization. Before moving to ECA, Ifeta consulted for the Global Urban Unit on climate-smart and resilient urban development. Prior to joining the Bank, she worked as a land use planner for the engineering consultancy Ramboll. She holds a MSc degree in Human Geography and Planning from the University of Utrecht, Netherlands.
