Iqbal Ahmed is a Senior Environmental Specialist within the Environment and Natural Resources Global Practice of the World Bank. He provides environmental safeguards/ESF services for the projects in South Asia Region country programs, with a focus on Bangladesh and Bhutan, and contributes to pollution management, resource efficiency, and climate change mitigation projects. Prior to joining the Bank, he worked in the government and private sector in Bangladesh and Canada.
Iqbal holds a Master’s in civil engineering from Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada and he completed his Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He is a registered Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) of Ontario, Canada.
