Irani Arráiz is an Economist in the Development Effectiveness Division at IDB Invest. Her areas of expertise include policy evaluation and finance and private sector development. She has published several articles in international academic journals related to the effectiveness of programs aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the private sector in Latin America. Previous to IDB Invest, Irani worked at the Multilateral Investment Fund and the Office of Evaluation and Oversight of the IDB. Irani holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland at College Park; an MBA from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración, and a BSc in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar in Caracas, Venezuela. She also holds a CFA designation.
