Ivan Gachet is a consultant in the Poverty Global Practice at the World Bank. His research interests are in labor economics, taxes, and applied econometrics. Ivan has been a part of World Bank teams providing lending and analytical assistance on various topics, including job diagnostics, labor regulations, skills, minimum wage, social protection, and distributional effects of tax and labor policies. He has also published academic and policy papers and reports on various economic policy topics.
Before joining the Bank, he worked in senior positions at government institutions in Ecuador and taught econometrics at Universidad San Francisco. Ivan holds a Master's in economics from University College London and a Master's in development from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
