Public Sector Specialist, Middle East and North Africa, Governance Global Practice

Izzah Akram Malik is a Public Sector Specialist in the Middle East and North Africa unit of the World Bank’s Governance Global Practice. Over the last 8 plus years, she has worked on governance and public sector reform issues in countries spanning Africa, South Asia and MENA.

Izzah’s work focuses on public expenditure efficiency, wage bill rightsizing, civil service management and the political economy of reform. As part of this work, she has led several analytical engagements and lending operations.

Prior to joining the World Bank, Izzah worked with the UNDP on Fragile States and with Mercy Corps as a Policy Advocate. She received her master’s degree in Public Policy from the Lyndon B. Johnson School at the University of Texas at Austin.
