Jonathan Nagao is the World Bank Group Director of Data and AI within the Digital and AI Vice Presidency. He brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience from Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, where he led the commercialization of AI ecosystems, digital payments platforms, and cybersecurity solutions at scale. He has managed cross-border engineering organizations across Japan, India, and the United States, and is known for translating complex technologies into practical, human-centered solutions — with a particular focus on last-mile challenges in healthcare, finance, and digital inclusion. Jonathan holds an MBA from Duke University.
