Joseph Simumba is an economist in the Macroeconomics, Trade, and Investment (MTI) Global Practice at the World Bank Country Office in Lusaka, Zambia. Since joining the Bank in January 2022, he has focused on macroeconomic monitoring, fiscal and public debt analytics, supporting macroeconomic policy reforms, and tracking credit risk developments. Joseph has worked on a two-series programmatic development policy lending to Zambia, macroeconomic forecasting, public finance review, country growth and jobs diagnostics, and tracking sustainable development financing policy. More recently, he has contributed to the preparation of a new country partnership framework for Zambia. Before joining the Bank, Joseph worked for the Bank of Zambia. He graduated from the University of Cape Town with expertise in quantitative economic modelling.
