Jacomina de Regt worked for the World Bank for over 30 years, last as coordinator for Community Driven Development for the Africa Region. She currently works as an independent consultant on community driven development with development agencies as well as for the private sector interested in sustainability. She lived through the civil war and peace process in Mozambique and used this experience as a touchstone while writing, "Designing Community-Driven Development Operations in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Situations, Lessons from a Stocktaking," a World Bank publication on the issues confronting the design of community development programs in a post-conflict environment.
Jacomina is a rural sociologist who holds a Masters of Science degree from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
