Jacopo Gabani works in the Health Financing Team of the Global Health Unit. In his role, he develops knowledge products and advises countries across various regions and income levels on health and finance policy reforms. Previously, he worked in the Global Financing Facility (GFF) Health Financing team, advising several countries on health resource tracking and health financing reforms, with a focus on primary healthcare and public financial management. Jacopo's career also included positions at various NGOs and the Ministry of Health in Liberia, where he focused on health financing and human resources for health. He started his career at Procter & Gamble, where he also worked on pharmaceutical products. His research has been published in leading journals, and he has shared his expertise teaching “Economics of healthcare systems” at the University of York.
Jacopo holds a PhD in Economics from the University of York, an MSc in Public Health from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and an MSc in Business Administration from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. He was a visiting fellow at Harvard School of Public Health.
