With almost 30 years of experience in Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East, James Harris has successfully closed greenfield and brownfield projects across numerous industry sectors. These sectors have included oil & gas (petrochemicals, terminals/storage facilities, LNG), power/renewables, mining/resources, climate/carbon, transport (road, rail, sea, air), water treatment and distribution, waste management, biomass, health & hospitals, education, sports and leisure, integrated resorts, casinos, telecoms, and defense. He advises project developers/sponsors, host governments, and funders (commercial banks, export credit agencies, and multilaterals).
 
James is also well known for his extensive experience of PPPs (public private partnerships) across Asia. His clients have included national/subnational governments, agencies, or ministries in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Myanmar, Brunei, Mongolia, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines. He has advised sponsors/developers bidding on PPP projects (social or economic infrastructure) as well as lenders such as traditional project finance banks, export credit, and multilateral agencies.
 
James is a founding member of the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA) Project Finance Committee, Asia chair for the International Project Finance Association, and an adjunct professor of law at Singapore Management University.
