James Neumann is senior counsel for the Digital Development Global Practice and legal adviser for Identification for Development (ID4D), a global, multi-sectoral initiative of the World Bank Group. James leads operational teams and provides legal advisory services on World Bank lending, analytical and advisory programs globally. His work is focused on the digital economy, including legal and regulatory issues related to digital infrastructure and investment, privatizations, Public Private Partnerships, competition and investment climate policy, digital identification, data governance, data protection, cybersecurity, cybercrime, digital transactions and e-commerce.
James has an LLB from the University of Canterbury and an LLM from the University of Michigan.
