James Tay is a senior water supply and sanitation specialist in the East Asia and Pacific regional team and is based in Singapore. Prior to joining the World Bank, he worked at the Centre for Liveable Cities, Ministry of National Development, Singapore, and in a water utility in Perth, Australia. James is a water engineer by profession and has worked on projects across the region including in China, Mongolia, the Pacific, Australia, Singapore, and India. He holds a Master of Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore, and a Bachelor of Civil and Construction Engineering from Curtin Technological University, Australia. His professional interests include areas of water, urban development, and public policy.
