Jan von der Goltz is a Senior Economist in the World Bank’s Middle East and North Africa region. He is an applied microeconomist and works on conflict, on jobs, and on environmental issues. His research has been published in the Journal of Development Economics and other peer-reviewed journals. Before joining the World Bank, he worked for the UN and the Center for Global Development. He holds a Ph.D. in development economics from Columbia University.
