Jana Hughes Malinska leads private sector development, investment, and policy reform for the World Bank Group's Finance, Competitiveness and Investment practice across West Africa, based in Dakar, Senegal. With over two decades of international business development experience spanning more than 50 countries and four regions, she partners with government and private sector leaders to translate large-scale lending programs and policy reforms into stronger businesses, better jobs, and more resilient, inclusive economies. Prior to her posting in Dakar, Jana led the World Bank's Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) and the infoDev Climate Innovation Centers Network, two global programs that mobilized private capital and scaled financing across emerging markets. Earlier, she led investment and innovation across the Middle East, North Africa, and Central and South Asia with IFC and the World Bank teams. She started her career in the Czech government before moving into international marketing in the automotive and banking sectors.
