Janet Maya Logo is a Communications and Media Specialist with over 12 years’ experience working in humanitarian and development contexts within the region and in the Middle East, focusing on strategic communications, protection and peacebuilding. Maya holds a BA in Mass Communications from Makerere University (UG) and is currently pursuing her Master’s in International Development from Andrews University, Michigan. She has previously worked with Danish Refugee Council (DRC) as Protection and Information Officer where she supported the returnees and IDPs affected by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in Uganda, Pact-Sudan as Information Officer supporting the South Sudan Peace Fund and Water, Sanitation and Peace Programmes, Abt Associates (USAID’s The FARM Projects) as Communications Officer, UNHCR as Coordination Associate based in Jordan supporting Syrian Refugee Program, UN Office of the Resident Coordinator where she coordinated the United Nations Communications Group and supported joint UNCT communications, UNAIDS as Communications Specialist, WHO as Communications Officer for the COVID-19 National Response and currently working with UNOPS as the Communications Officer for World Bank’s South Sudan Safety Net Project (SSSNP) and Enhancing Community Resilience and Local Governance Project (ECRP).
