Jason Weaver is a Senior Economist at the World Bank. While working in West and Central Africa as well as Europe and Central Asia, Jason has supported many countries on challenges across the education sector, including higher education, technical and vocational education and training, and foundational learning. His is also a co-lead of the Bank’s regional education strategy for Western and Central Africa.
Jason has completed special assignments within the Bank to help design and launch the Human Capital Project, coordinate efforts to tackle Learning Poverty and achieve the Bank’s ambitious Learning Target, and improve the institutional effectiveness and agility of the Bank.
Before joining the Bank, Jason was a Director at a higher education consultancy. During his ten years in consulting, he provided strategy and management advice to a wide variety of higher education systems and institutions. Jason received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and his graduate degree, which focused on education planning, policy and administration, from Harvard University.
