Javier Feinmann is a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at UC Berkeley. His research is at the intersection of Public Finance and Labor Economics, mainly in Latin America. He takes interest in how governments can reduce inequality and promote growth through a variety of policy tools. In particular, public investment in higher education and how it shapes the quality of entrepreneurs in the economy. Additionally, Javier works on the optimal design of tax systems to reduce evasion and avoidance practices that can undermine the redistributional component of the tax system.
