Jean Michel Lobet is a Senior Financial Sector Specialist who joined the World Bank Group in October 2006. Since 2014, he has been part of the Finance, Competitiveness & Investment Global Practice, advising client governments in the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America on financial sector reforms aimed at promoting financial stability and fostering efficient, resilient, and inclusive financial systems.
Over his tenure at the World Bank, Mr. Lobet has advised governments worldwide on a wide range of private and financial sector development issues, including investment climate, corporate governance, state bank restructuring, access to credit, housing finance, banking supervision, payment systems, and financial inclusion. He also co-authored the Doing Business reports from 2009 to 2014.
Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Mr. Lobet worked at the Inter-American Development Bank and the Organization of American States. He holds a Law degree from the University of Montpellier I (France) and a Master’s in Public Administration from Paris II Panthéon-Assas University (France).
