Jean-Philippe Tré is a Senior Agricultural Economist in the World Bank's Global Agriculture and Food Practice for West and Central Africa. He led a wide range of complex operations covering a variety of agricultural value chains. As Task Team Leader, he has conducted policy dialogue and analytical work for the implementation of key sector reforms to foster agricultural sector development. His experience spans the globe, including Latin America, East Asia, the Middle East, Northern Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa. Current operations under his leadership focus on promoting food and cash crop value chains competitiveness, including improving business environment, value chain governance, productivity, quality, and value addition. Jean-Philippe joined the Bank in 2002 as a Young Professional. He holds a PhD from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. USA and an engineering degree in Agronomy from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Agronomie in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire.
