Jeanne Verrier is an Economist at the IMF Monetary and Capital Markets Department (MCM). In her current position, she focuses on digital money and payment systems, conducting analytical projects on the macroeconomic and financial implications of the rise of digital money and leading technical assistance missions on central bank digital currency. She also worked in the Asia and Pacific Department, the Institute for Capacity Development, and the Research Department. Prior to joining the IMF, she worked in the World Bank Development Research Group and completed research projects at the Reserve Bank of India and at BNP Paribas Singapore. Her background is in macro-finance and her research interests include monetary policy transmission and empirical banking. Jeanne holds an M.A. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in International Economics from the Graduate Institute of Geneva.
