Jehan Arulpragasam is a Practice Manager for Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice of the World Bank Group. He currently manages the West and Central Africa region and previously managed the East Asia and Pacific region for the Social Protection and Jobs Practice. Jehan joined the World Bank in 1995 and has previously held the positions of Country Economist, Human Development Sector Leader and Advisor to the Managing Director. He has worked in areas of fiscal management and subsidy reform, poverty, food security and nutrition, adaptive safety nets and disaster response, migration and jobs. Jehan holds a PhD in Economics from the University of North Carolina and a BA in Economics from Cornell University.
