Jiawen is a Consultant in the World Bank's Digital Development Global Practice. She has extensive field experience in eSwatini and Kenya advising nonprofits and governments on youth entrepreneurship, agricultural value-chain development, and small business financing initiatives. Previously, Jiawen worked as an Engagement Manager at Oliver Wyman focusing on consumer financial services and digital payments. She recently developed nowcasting tools using machine learning techniques to track economic activity in Africa in partnership with the International Monetary Fund and evaluated organizational effectiveness in peacekeeping mission settings with the United Nations Executive Office of the Secretary-General. Jiawen is pursuing an MPA-International Development at the Harvard Kennedy School and an MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University with a B.A. in Economics-Political Science.
