Jing Xie is a Development Economics Consultant with the Development Data Group at the World Bank. Her work focuses on real-time poverty and macroeconomic nowcasting, leveraging household surveys, satellite imagery, and machine learning methods. She previously served as a Nowcasting Lecturer and Research Analyst at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where she contributed to macroeconomic research and capacity development missions, delivering technical assistance and training to central banks and national statistical offices across Asia-Pacific, the Caribbean, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Jing holds a Master’s in Public Affairs from Princeton University, with a specialization in Economic Development and a certificate in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the George Washington University, with concentrations in Finance and Economics.
