Johan Ortega holds a BSc in Economics with an emphasis in public policy and an MSc in Economics from Universidad del Rosario. He is a Consultant in the Trade and Integration unit at the World Bank and previously served as a Robert S. McNamara Fellow in the Finance and Private Sector Development area within the Development Research Group. He has also worked with the Fragility, Conflict, and Violence (FCV) group as a data analytics consultant. His work focuses on trade, MSMEs, labor markets, and the economic integration of vulnerable populations. Prior to joining the Bank, he worked at Building Markets and the Secretariat of Economic Development of Bogotá and served as an adjunct professor in data analytics in Colombia.
