Johanna Fajardo-Gonzalez is an applied microeconomist with the World Bank’s Poverty and Equity Unit in the East Asia and Pacific region. Her work integrates ex-ante and ex-post impact evaluations to tackle a wide range of public policy challenges on poverty, inequality, and labor markets. Johanna has published her research and policy work in refereed journals, including The Economic Journal, World Development, The Review of Economics of the Household, and The Journal of Economic Inequality. Before joining the World Bank, she worked at the United Nations Development Programme and the Inter-American Development Bank. Johanna has a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota, with fields in labor economics and applied econometrics. She also holds an M.Sc. in Economics from University College London and a B.A. in Economics from the National University of Colombia.
