Jonathan Coony is a Sr Climate Finance Specialist at the World Bank where he focuses on the deployment of climate finance to support climate and clean energy transitions in developing countries.
Previously, Jonathan was Global Lead for Green Competitiveness where he led the organization’s support for private activity in climate markets. He also served as Program Coordinator of the World Bank Climate Technology Program (CTP) which, under his leadership, grew from ideation to a global network of seven Climate Innovation Centers.
Prior to joining the Bank, Jonathan worked at the International Energy Agency (IEA), structured project finance for power plants, and developed and marketed a clean cooling technology for the Caribbean.
Jonathan holds an MBA from INSEAD (France), and MS and BS degrees in engineering from Brown University (USA) and has two U.S. patents in clean energy technology.
