Jonathan is a Senior Digital Development Specialist, based in Jakarta. He leads the World Bank's digital development programs in Indonesia and Timor Leste, and provides expertise for digital identity and digital public infrastructure activities across the East Asia and Pacific region. Previously, he was an Operations Officer (based in Washington DC) and Senior Program Officer (based in Singapore and Jakarta) in the World Bank's cross-sectoral Identification for Development (ID4D) initiative, supporting digital identity and civil registration activities in more than 40 countries and leading global engagement in bodies such as the G20 and UN. Before joining the World Bank in 2016, he worked for UNESCAP, UNICEF, UNHCR and IOM (all based in Bangkok) in various capacities. He holds a Master of Arts in International Political Economy from King's College London and a Bachelor of International Business from Macquarie University in his native Australia.
