Jonathan Kamkwalala is the Practice Manager for East and Southern Africa at the World Bank’s Water Global Practice. Mr. Kamkwalala has over 20 years of experience in water resources, water supply and sanitation and urban development infrastructure sub-sectors at the World Bank. From 2010-2014, he was a Practice Manager for Water Resources, Disaster Risk Management, and Environment and Natural Resource Management in the Africa Region at the World Bank. His prior work experience includes Program Coordinator for the Africa urban water unit, Country Sector Coordinator for the Western Balkans in the ECA region (responsible for water supply, sanitation, urban development, agriculture and rural development), and Lead Financial Analyst for water supply and urban activities in Central Asia and South Asia. His county experience includes Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Armenia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India and Bhutan. He holds a M.Sc. in Finance from Hult International Business School and a B.A. from the University of Malawi.
