Jörg Peters is head of the “Climate Change in Developing Countries” research unit at RWI and Associate Professor at Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg. He is a specialist in access to modern energy in developing countries as well as the evaluation of development interventions. In this context, Jörg has supervised and implemented studies on the impacts of electrification and improved cooking stoves programs in Rwanda, Uganda, Senegal, Tanzania, Benin, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Ghana, Indonesia, Nepal, and Zambia. Jörg has advised various international organizations such as the World Bank, UNIDO, 3ie, FMO, and GIZ. His research findings have been published in refereed journals, for example The Energy Journal, the World Bank Economic Review, Journal of Health Economics, and World Development.
