Jorge Tudela Pye is the World Bank's Country Economist for Kenya within the Economic Policy Global Department (former Macroeconomics, Trade, and Investment Global Practice). In this capacity, he leads efforts in macroeconomic analysis, policy design, and promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth. Previously, Jorge was part of the World Bank's Zambia country economics team, where he led development policy operations and authored reports on economic growth and macroeconomic stability. Before joining the World Bank, Jorge served as a Research Fellow and Associate at the Growth Lab, part of the Center for International Development at Harvard University. During this time, he contributed extensively to research and publications on economic growth, public finance, and trade. Jorge holds a Master in Public Administration in International Development (MPA/ID) from Harvard University, along with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. His professional and academic interests lie in advancing structural policies for economic growth, fostering macroeconomic stability, reducing poverty, promoting equity, and achieving fiscal and environmental sustainability.
